In this senior level hands-on engineering role, you will be accountable for both day-to-day operations and direction setting for automation, innovation and delivery of MQ Services for our Distributed (ie, not mainframe) technology ecosystem. Specific responsibilities will include: Understanding and supporting ongoing customer engineering requests from software engineering teams Building and supporting MQ infrastructure to drive / support business growth Ensuring MQ stability in support of many critical business applicationsInvestigating messaging issues and working with colleagues to solve at root cause Driving platform modernization and automation efforts Leading messaging infrastructure focused projects to completion Contributing to the product lifecycle management agenda Guiding other engineers on the Distributed Messaging Services team
10 + years of experience administrating complex distributed messaging environments based on IBM WMQDemonstrated thorough understanding of messaging concepts, patterns, and architectureProven experience administrating Integration technologies such as IBM Integration Bus Experience with open source messaging platforms such as Active MQ and/or Rabbit MQTrack record of success leading projects from start to finish Demonstrated ability to drive change and simplification agendas Progressive thinking, innovative mindset and the ability to influence decision making Willingness and ability to share rotational on-call responsibilities Preferred skills/experiences: Experience with Docker based environmentsExperience using DevOps principles to deliver solutions Experience using Agile methodology Technology Careers with Optum.
