The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track assistant or associate professor. Candidates are required to hold an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or a related discipline to the sought research area in Additive Manufacturing. Desirable focus areas include creative development of new product and technology ventures considering cost effective design-to-production. It is desired that a candidate have experience with one or more of the following focus areas: composite manufacturing, additive manufacturing, manufacturing process simulation, computer-aided design and manufacturing, process-structure-property modeling, and manufacturing process technology development. The tentative starting date of employment is Fall 2018.
Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, building and leading a team of Ph.D. student researchers, developing externally funded research programs that yield top-tier publications, and serving on committees within UTA and the research community.
Candidates must have earned (by the start date) a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a closely related area. Candidates for Assistant Professor must have demonstrated exceptional research promise. Candidates for the tenured level must be leading their research area. All candidates must show a strong commitment to teaching excellence.
