The Key Account Manager (KAM) position is part of the BASF Corporate Distribution team. This position will be based in the Chicago, IL area.

Formula for Success: You Will...
Understand and articulate business unit (BU) strategies towards distribution across the full BASF portfolio and with Key Account in support of delivering targeted growth.
Serve as the primary contact to the Key Account, facilitate the identification and support value-added cross-BU opportunities. Communicate to key decision-makers and stakeholders. Advance cross-BU information exchange to ensure all possible opportunities with the Key Account and within BASF are explored.
Serve as the Strategic Customer Network Lead for the Key Account in support of the NA 2025 Customer First Wining together strategy. Cultivate relationships with all levels and functions within the Key Account and across all BASF BU's to enable sustainable and profitable organic growth, according to the Key Account Strategy.
Manage Dotted-line responsibilities for the regional Distributor Account Managers who have contact with the Key Account, and lead the implementation of the Sales Playbook.
Partner with sales, functions, and BU resources to identify and capitalize upon qualified opportunities in the targeted portfolios.
Understand Key Account's innovation, service level, and segment needs and how BASF can fulfill them. Continually refresh the understanding of what BASF can do to help their business. (Know and communicate the BASF portfolio to Key Accounts.)
Establish a deep understanding of the Key Account's culture, vision, and economic drivers, and manage key relationships between the Key Account and BASF stakeholders.
Engage the Key Account in new product/service development initiatives. Hold responsibility for evaluating offers that fit a Key Account's unique needs.
Manage the Interaction Model between the Key Account and BU's by coordinating, driving, and tracking internal efforts including actions, pricing management, and regular updates to senior business executives and to the BASF community.
Ensure all identified opportunities are tracked to completion with Key Account.
Establish relationships with all levels in the Key Account's organization, especially central decision-makers. Achieve a position as a broad-based
