Position Summary Rockwell Automation (RA) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern. He/she will assist, under the guidance of the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, in the execution of projects of varying complexity and scope and will be expected to perform multiple activities across projects. He/she will assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of methods, routings and processes for the manufacture of RA parts and assemblies. He/she will identify and suggest continuous improvements in the manufacturing processes.
The successful candidate will work on new product development as well as existing products, interfacing with cross functional teams to achieve key factors of project success, which include project schedule, project cost, product cost, process quality, and transferability. He/she will work with engineering, quality and manufacturing resources to develop best-in-class methods for manufacturing, identify/design tooling and fixtures, estimate cost and make process improvements for new or existing product lines.
This position will involve the following activities:
Support for Manufacturing Engineering as necessary
Identify and suggest manufacturing cost reductions and productivity improvements.
Compile and document work instructions and procedures. Assist in ECN process by providing mark-ups of procedures.
Assist in development, design, and implementation of tooling, as needed, for all manufacturing processes.
Assist with the procurement of manufacturing equipment, supplies, and materials.

Must be currently enrolled studying Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent degree at an accredited 4 year college or university.
Knowledge in the application of basic engineering principles, theories, and techniques.
Must be able to work well in a team environment and interface with other functional groups such as engineering, operations, quality, purchasing, sales, and outside suppliers
Able to assist in design and development of tooling and fixtures that aid in the manufacture of parts, components, and assemblies in a low-to-medium volume environment
Good communication skills and the ability to provide clear status updates to supervisor.
Essential computer skills include familiarity and fluency in MS Office.
Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Legal Authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals who will need employment visas for this job opening.

Experience with electromechanical assemblies, including box-build, PCBAs, cables, etc.
Knowledge of CAD programs such as SolidWorks, ORCAD, PRO-E
